Your 5-minute morning with Today

You will have a calm daily habit: read your numbers once, do one small thing, and pick your next idea.

Checked against YouTube Help on 2026-10-28

In this lesson

  • Read the "Your channel" card on Today, and tell when the numbers are from an earlier day.
  • Check today's task against the Getting good on YouTube lessons, then do it and tap "Mark done".
  • Know what "Plan my next 2 weeks" adds to Today, and how to shift a plan when life gets in the way.
  • Choose "Plan" or "Write" on a "Make next" idea on purpose, and pick a "Morning brief" email setting that helps you rather than stresses you.

Opening Today is free

Today is the first item in the Videxa sidebar, and the first tab on a phone. It needs a free account and a connected channel. On a computer it is a wide page: your task, your plan and ideas on the left, and your channel and an "Ask Videxa" box on the right. On a phone it is one column, task first.

Opening Today uses none of your daily usage, because it only reads numbers, plans and ideas that Videxa has already saved. Daily usage is the allowance that Ask, Write and the planner share each day, and the "Making the most of the Free plan" lesson explains it.

Your numbers are not live

Videxa saves your channel's public numbers once a night, at about 4:00 AM IST. If you have been away and your numbers are older than yesterday, opening Today asks for fresh ones.

Until they arrive, the header shows a line such as "Numbers from 23 October. Fresh ones arrive overnight." Nothing is wrong with your channel.

Videxa sees only public numbers. For private numbers such as watch time, open YouTube Studio.

Your channel at a glance

The "Your channel" card has three parts. It sits on the right on a computer, and just under your task on a phone:

Today's one task

The big card at the top, marked "Today", gives you one small task. Without a 2-week plan, Videxa picks it from its own fixed list of tips, based on your channel's size: under 100 subscribers, under 1,000, or 1,000 and more. The tip changes every day. It is not written by AI, and it is not a message from YouTube.

Before you act on it, run the craft check in this lesson. When you have done the task, tap "Mark done", and the card shows "Done for today". For some tips, such as one about titles, a "Write titles" button opens Write.

Do the task only if it fits your channel this week. A skipped tip costs you nothing, and a new one arrives tomorrow.

Plan my next 2 weeks, and your results

Under the task, "Plan my next 2 weeks" opens the Season planner: five quick questions with tap answers, your content language, then "Make my plan". Videxa fills your next 2 weeks with long videos, Shorts and lives you can keep up with, and puts every upload on your Calendar. Making the plan uses some daily usage. On the Free plan you can make one plan a month.

With a plan, the task card gives you one step at a time for your next upload, such as "Record it" or "Pick the final title", with a short reason and "Mark done". After a tick it says "Done for today", and "Undo the last tick" puts it back. "Your 2 weeks" shows each upload on its day. A "Write" button opens Write with that upload's title filled in. Nothing is written until you tap "Write title and description".

If life gets in the way, "Shift my plan" first shows which uploads move to which day. Tap "Shift plan" to confirm, and "Undo" right after puts everything back. If a planned upload did not go out, the card offers "Post today" or "Shift my plan".

Without a plan, the "On your calendar" card shows your next 7 days, with a dot for each planned video. A "Set up Videxa for your channel" card may also list four things that help Videxa fit you: your writing voice, content language, subscriber goal and a 2-week plan. You can hide it.

"How your uploads did" shows each recent upload's views after 24 hours, 48 hours and 7 days, from Videxa's own saved numbers. Once enough uploads of one kind are tracked, it also says whether each landed "Inside your usual", "Above your usual" or "Below your usual". Long videos are compared at 7 days and Shorts at 48 hours, only with your own uploads. Live streams are not compared.

Make next: three ideas, three buttons

"Make next" shows up to 3 ideas for your next video, and they change every day. Each idea has three buttons:

Why "Plan" is the calm choice

Tap "Plan" or "Add to plan" when an idea looks good, and write it on the day you are ready to film. Before you plan it, test it against your viewer sentence from the "Your viewer and your next three ideas" lesson: would that person click it, and be glad they watched?

Your Videxa calendar is a personal planner. It never uploads or schedules anything on YouTube.

Look once, not ten times

YouTube says it takes time to work out which views, likes and subscribers are real. While it checks, it may slow down, freeze or change your counts [1].

So a number that has not moved since morning is normal, and Videxa usually updates its numbers once a night anyway. Look once, do your one thing, and get back to your video. The "Reading YouTube Studio without panic" lesson covers frozen counts.

Today is a quick daily glance. Your deeper check of Studio numbers stays once a week, as in "Reading YouTube Studio without panic".

YouTube also says there is no universal good benchmark for numbers like CTR (click-through rate: how often viewers watched a video after seeing its thumbnail on YouTube). It advises improving against your own past numbers rather than an outside target [2].

Compare each video only with your own past videos, never with a bigger channel.

Morning brief email

Videxa can also email you a short brief at about 7:00 AM IST. To choose how often, open Settings, then the "Morning brief" tab. On a phone, Settings is under More. Two choices matter most on the Free plan:

Keep the email kind to you

Every brief has a "Stop these emails" link that works without logging in. Briefs go only to people who used Videxa in the last 30 days, and only for a channel with tracked numbers.

If numbers in your inbox make you anxious, choose "Off". Today will still be there when you choose to look.

Do

  • Open Today once in the morning, read your task and the "Your channel" card, then get back to your video.
  • Tap "Plan" on an idea you like, and write it when you are ready to film.
  • Judge your numbers against your own past numbers, not an outside target.

Don't

  • Do not refresh Today or YouTube Studio again and again to watch a number move. Videxa usually updates its numbers once a night.
  • Do not write metadata for every idea just to see what comes out. Each write uses daily usage.

Your 5-minute morning

  1. Tomorrow morning, open Today once.
  2. Read the "Your channel" card: "Subscribers", "Views", your goal and "Latest video". If the header says your numbers are from an earlier date, that is fine.
  3. Read today's task and check it against the Getting good on YouTube lessons. If it fits, do it and tap "Mark done". If it does not, skip it today.
  4. In "Make next", tap "Plan" (or "Add to plan" if you have a 2-week plan) on one idea that fits your viewer sentence. Do not tap "Write" yet.
  5. Open the Calendar and check which day the idea landed on. If you mean another day, open it and change the date.
  6. Close Videxa and get back to your video. That is the whole habit.
