What you get
- A score out of 100 for your channel
- The few fixes that matter most for titles, descriptions, tags and consistency
- How your recent uploads compare with each other
The audit uses only public channel data. For daily tracking and a plan, start free on Videxa.
How the free audit works
- Paste your channel link or @handle into the box above.
- Videxa reads public data only: your channel totals, plus views, likes, comments, titles, descriptions, tags and upload dates for up to 15 recent uploads. It never asks for your password.
- Six checks are each marked Good, Could be better or Fix this, with what was found and a plain fix.
- The weighted checks add up to a score out of 100, with the biggest win on top and your best recent video, the one with the most views, below.
The six checks, and how much each one counts
- Upload consistency, 25 points: how many videos you posted in the last 30 days. Four or more is marked Good, one to three Could be better, none Fix this.
- Views compared with subscribers, 20 points: a typical recent video's views as a share of your subscriber count. Around 30% or more is marked Good.
- Title length, 15 points: the average length of recent titles. Between 40 and 70 characters is marked Good, well within YouTube's 100 character limit.
- Descriptions, 15 points: how many recent videos have a description over 200 characters. Most of them is marked Good.
- Engagement, 15 points: likes and comments as a share of views on a typical recent video. Around 4% or more is marked Good.
- Tags, 5 points: whether most recent videos carry more than 15 tags. The weight is small on purpose, because YouTube says tags play a minimal role (YouTube Help: Add tags to your YouTube videos, https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/146402).
How the score is worked out
Each check earns part or all of its weight. If your subscriber count is hidden, the views compared with subscribers check is skipped and the score comes from the other five.
The score is Videxa's reading of your public numbers, not a YouTube metric. It measures your channel against fixed checks only and never ranks you against other creators.
What a public audit cannot see
Watch time, average view duration, impressions, click-through rate, traffic sources and revenue are private to the owner in YouTube Studio. A public audit cannot see them, so treat the score as a quick outside check and look at weak videos in Studio too.
How to read your result
Start with the biggest win. It is the check, among those not yet Good, with the most to gain once its weight is counted. Fix one thing at a time. A middling score is common and is not a verdict on your channel; it is a list of things you can change.
Share or come back to your result
Every audit gets its own link, /audit/ followed by your channel ID, to share or reopen. Results are kept for a day; an older link fetches fresh numbers from YouTube before it shows them.
A five minute self audit, with or without the tool
- Count your uploads in the last 30 days. Is that a rhythm you can keep?
- Read your last five titles. Does each say what the viewer gets, with the topic early?
- Open your last five descriptions. Does each start with real sentences, not only links?
- Look at likes and comments on recent videos. Do you ask viewers a question?
- Write down one change for your next video, and only one.

Questions
Is the channel audit really free?
Yes. Paste a channel link or @handle and see your score without an account or card.
Do I need to log in or give my password?
No. The audit reads public numbers only and never asks for your YouTube or Google password.
How is the score out of 100 calculated?
From six weighted checks: upload consistency 25, views compared with subscribers 20, title length 15, descriptions 15, engagement 15 and tags 5. If your subscriber count is hidden, the score uses the other five.
Does the audit compare my channel with other channels?
No. It checks your own recent uploads against fixed checks and never ranks you against other creators.
Why can't it show watch time or click-through rate?
Because those numbers are private to the channel owner in YouTube Studio. A public audit can only see what anyone can see on your channel.
How often does the result update?
Results are kept for a day. After that, running the audit again or opening your shared link fetches fresh numbers from YouTube.
My score is low. Is my channel failing?
No. A low score points to things you can change, often just upload rhythm or descriptions. Start with the biggest win and fix one thing at a time.
Will following the biggest win grow my channel?
Nobody can promise growth. The biggest win points to the clearest weak spot in your public numbers, and fixing it gives your next videos a fairer chance.
What does a free Videxa account add?
A free account checks your channel each night and tells you what changed and one thing to do, plus writing help in your own voice.
